Class Selection & Pre-Registration

- Choosing Classes: In May, parents/guardians of new students will receive an email with the 2026-27 curriculum guide, a course request form, and instructions from Carol Martin, Registrar.
- Placement Testing: As part of the course request email, you will receive information on class placement for mathematics and, in some cases, world languages.
- Band and Orchestra: Whether your student has never played an instrument before or they are an accomplished musician, they can be placed in band or orchestra at the beginning, intermediate, or advanced level.
- Pre-Registration: In June, parents/guardians will receive Family Portal login information by email. Once in the portal you can access the preregistration forms, including family demographics, emergency and medical forms, and more. Please complete these forms prior to attending Registration.

- Summer Opportunities (Get involved before school starts!):
- Lunch Program: Lunches made fresh and on-site are part of a TGS education. Please see our SAGE Dining page for details or to contact Chef Noelle Zablosky.
- Athletics: Our Athletics webpage lists Middle and Upper School sports by season. Middle School sports practices are M,T,Th,F from 3:45 - 5:15. Upper School practices are set and communicated by the coaches when the season starts.
- Middle School Before & After Care: Runs from 7:00 - 8:15 am and 3:40 to 5:15 pm for students in Grades 5-8. You'll find details in the Family Portal, which you'll receive a log-in for in June.
- Family Association: All TGS parents/guardians are part of our active and vibrant Family Association. Look for FA Executive Committee members and grade-level reps at a variety of events before school starts.
- TGS Apparel is available for purchase through our school store. All new students will receive a TGS T-shirt from our Admissions Office.
Getting Ready for School

- Summer Reading and Middle School Supply lists will be available in your Family Portal in June. You will receive portal login information by email. (Upper School students will receive any supply lists from their teachers on the first day of school.) Textbooks are provided by TGS.
- Laptops: All students must provide their own laptop. Please see technology resources for suggestions and specifications.
- Registration, August 6: In late July, parents/guardians will receive an email to sign up for a time to attend registration on August 6. At registration, students receive their schedules, locker assignments and locks, parent car placards, and more.
- Orientation, August 7: All new students and parents/guardians attend orientation on August 7 in the late afternoon. Orientation is followed by the Expo where you can informally chat with representatives from student clubs, athletics, the Family Association, and more and discover how you'd like to get involved at TGS.
