Individually tailored to the needs of each student, our in-depth college counseling curriculum helps each student be the best possible candidate and find the college, university, or alternative program path that fits their personal and educational interests and goals. Open and frequent communication with families is key to student success, and with a 37:1 student:counselor ratio, I am able to establish a close working relationship with each student and family.
As a dedicated college counselor and licensed school counselor with over 30 years of experience, I begin building a relationship with students during the eighth grade. College counseling courses are built into the weekly schedules of juniors and seniors (with class sizes ranging from two to ten students), and we work together on the complete process.
We host visits from college admissions officers from around the world, and in small gatherings, our students personally connect with these visiting representatives with my guidance. In addition, we host two annual college fairs on campus. In total, more than 150 college and university representatives visit The Gregory School each year.
My personal goal is to help students get to college, but collectively as a school and as educators our goal is to get students through college and successfully on to happy and meaningful lives.
