The Gregory School
Athletics Program

The Gregory School believes that participation in athletics is instrumental in helping students mature. In addition to promoting physical fitness, we strive to develop the important skills of self-discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Athletic opportunities abound at both the Upper School and Middle School levels and are always carefully balanced to be part of a comprehensive program with a proper emphasis on academic success.

Our open participation policy ensures that every student can join a team and be part of the experience. Each player has a place and a role, though playing time is not always equal. What’s guaranteed is the opportunity to practice, improve, support teammates, and share in the pride of representing TGS.

Upper School Athletics
Competing in Arizona Interscholastic Association-sanctioned sports, The Gregory School has a glowing history of success on a statewide level, in both team sports and individual achievements, including back-to-back boys' basketball titles in 2008 and 2009, again in 2018 and 2019, and 2024 and 2025, individual cross country sectional winners in 2017 and 2024, and the girls' pole vault title in 2013. Several teams offer both varsity and junior varsity squads to best provide positive athletic experiences for all interested students. Gregory School students have gone on to compete in all divisions of NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA athletics.

Middle School Athletics
Students in grades 5 - 8 may participate in Middle School athletics. Our Middle School teams compete in the Tucson Independent Athletic League. We often have multiple teams in the same sport so that all interested students can participate.
