#TheGregorySchoolDifference

Dear TGS Families:

I hope you’ll take a moment to read the story in this week’s newsletter that describes the class designed by one of our middle school art teachers, Stephen Krohn. Mr. Krohn’s class is yet another example of what we proudly refer to as “The Gregory School Difference.” We pride ourselves on creating and customizing exceptional learning opportunities for students. When Mr. Krohn recognized that there was not only an interest, but a passion and desire on the part of TGS students to learn more about digital painting and illustration, he researched and wrote new curriculum to meet this need. I encourage you to learn more about the class and view some of the students’ work.

We pride ourselves on creating and customizing exceptional learning opportunities for students.

Likewise, another example of “The Gregory School Difference” is the personalized approach we take to the entire college counseling experience. Our Director of College Counseling, Mrs. Michelle Borleske, works with seniors throughout their first semester in a class known as “College Apps.”  Each senior is assigned to a section (ranging in size from four to seven students each) that focuses solely on the college admissions process, the completion of applications, the development of student profiles and resumes, and the decision-making surrounding early deadlines and commitments. This is an exceptional resource for students and families and we’re proud to be able to offer such a high-quality experience. As of November 15, 34 of our 37 seniors have initiated or submitted a combined 211 applications! Other students are considering the military and gap-year programs, .

Speaking of families, please mark your calendars for our Friends and Family Day on Tuesday, November 26th.  We welcome relatives (many of whom are in town for the holidays) to visit campus during our first two periods of the day.  Student performances in the theater will kick off our morning together and then visitors will be given the opportunity to take campus tours and/or participate in Friday exploration classes. We hope to see you there!

And finally, THANK YOU for the outpouring of support regarding the recent theft of equipment and supplies from our garden shed. Our families have been amazing. We have not only replaced what was taken, we have an even more generous inventory than before the break-in. Your generosity is very much appreciated. Our donors are recognized in this week’s message as well.

Best wishes for another beautiful weekend ahead in Tucson!

"The Gregory School is a place that is transforming learning and transforming students' lives. Gregory students lead institutions; they found movements; they invent technology; they run cities. Students leave TGS with a sense of agency; they believe they can change the world for the better and it is our aim to ensure we give them the knowledge, skills, experiences and confidence to do so."
