Seniors win Congressional
App Challenge

TGS students Chris Allen, Karl Ramus, Ted Roberts, and Erik Wisnom, all members of the class of 2022, won the 2021 Congressional App Challenge. The competition is hosted by members of the U.S. House of Representatives to encourage middle and high school students to learn to code and to inspire them to pursue careers in computer science.

Every year, members of the House of Representatives challenge students in their districts to create and submit original apps for a chance to win the Congressional App Challenge. Each challenge is district-specific.

The Gregory School team won the Challenge for Arizona Congressional District 2 with their App Memolog, a text memorization tool. The team received certificates from Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick’s office in a ceremony with Upper School Dean Mrs. Borleske, Head of School Dr. Sherrill, Computer Science Teacher Mr. Conner, and several of their classmates.
