A Message from TGS Board of Trustees Regarding Head of School Search

Dear Gregory School Community,
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am thrilled to announce that we have hired Mr. James Foreman as our new Head of School. Mr. Foreman will officially begin his tenure with us in the summer of 2025.

James and Jennifer Foreman and Victor the pug

He has served in key division leadership positions in both middle and upper schools, including roles at four different independent schools across the United States. Most recently, at The Galloway School in Atlanta, GA, he has served as a member of the senior leadership team for the past six years. His experience spans program development, enrollment management, and external relations, as well as cultivating community and diversity through fostering meaningful relationships within the school and with external stakeholders.

Mr. Foreman shared this message for our community:

“I am honored to accept the Head of School position at The Gregory School. TGS is a community that is rooted in relationships, where character education is a key component of a student's development, and educational excellence is coupled with passion-purposed experiential learning. Throughout my career, I have searched for school communities that align with my values professionally and personally. When Jennifer and I left our Tucson visit in September we knew we had found our home away from home with TGS. I look forward to the upcoming transition and becoming more familiar with every aspect of the school community.”

The Board and I are excited to bring Mr. Foreman’s innovative, relationship-driven leadership to our community and we look forward to working closely with him to build upon the strengths of The Gregory School as we continue to move forward together.

I would like to thank everyone who participated in the Head of School candidate site visits, whether by attending forums, watching videos, or completing surveys. Your input was invaluable in guiding the Search Committee’s recommendation and ultimately in shaping this exciting decision.

Additionally, we are grateful to DRG Consulting, a highly respected search firm specializing in educational leadership, for their partnership in identifying such a strong pool of candidates.

We look forward to having several chances for Mr. Foreman to visit campus and begin meeting members of our community before his official start date. We will keep you informed about these opportunities in the months ahead.

As we welcome Mr. Foreman to our school, I am confident that under his leadership, The Gregory School will continue to uphold its core values and remain a place of excellence, compassion, and community.

Thank you for your continued support as we embark on this exciting new chapter.

Warmly,
Ceci Lou Alter
President
