Chess is a powerful tool to help students to enhance their mental skills and to socialize in a healthy and creative environment. The main goals at the Chess club at The Gregory School are to help beginners to learn the fundamentals of the game and to provide seasoned players with a structure environment to prepare to compete at the State and National level.

Chess Club

At the Chess Club we strive to promote the expansion of scholastic chess in order to academically challenge youth in a fun and engaging manner, enabling them to do better in the classroom and participate more fully in after school and community events. As the players become proficient, they participate in local and community tournaments. The Gregory School often hosts Southern Arizona Chess Association tournaments on our campus.
