Head of School Welcome

2015 head of school

Exciting things are happening at The Gregory School!

We’re pleased to welcome you to our school website, but even more importantly we encourage you to visit this special learning community.  In your first few steps on campus you’ll experience the beauty of the 37-acre property and the towering trees that provide safe harbor to our real life school mascot, the Harris Hawk. The sight and sounds of our riparian area, created by students and a beloved former faculty member, as well as the community garden, farm animal enclosure, campus bicycling routes, low and high ropes courses, and extensive athletic fields are indicative of how the school community embraces our sense of place and translates this resource into real and experiential learning opportunities for the students we serve.

Visit our learning spaces and observe the dynamic interactions and relationships between exceptional faculty members and talented students. On any given day a tour may lead you to monologues being delivered in the theater, to students experimenting with perfume development in the chemistry lab, to the trial and error of inventions being created in the technology innovation lab, or the beauty of student artwork coming to life in the form of photography, ceramics, watercolor or dance.

The Gregory School is a place that is transforming learning and transforming students' lives. Gregory students lead institutions, they found movements, they invent technology, they run cities.  Students leave TGS with a sense of agency; they believe they can change the world for the better and it is our aim to ensure we give them the knowledge, skills, experiences and confidence to do so.  We hope to see you soon.

Sincerely,

Julie A. Sherrill, Ph.D.
Head of School
