Lauren Stern, ’11, is a senior at the University of Southern California studying international relations and social entrepreneurship. She spent the majority of 2014 living in South Africa, first studying international development and economic history at the University of Cape Town, then living in a rural community four hours north of Cape Town. There, she lived with a family of five and worked alongside community members to launch two social businesses. She is now back in Los Angeles, enjoying her last year at USC. After graduation, she plans to spend a year working and traveling abroad. She is currently in the process of planning her travels and is excited to be spending her first year out of school meeting new people and exploring unfamiliar places throughout the world.
