On Saturday, February 20th, our Mock Trial teams competed locally at the Pima County Courthouse. It was a long but excellent day for all our students.

The White Team (Natalie Armstrong, Grace He, Eric Johnson, Karam Katariya, Caitlin McCormick, Ben Showard, and timekeeper Sam Groskind) finished in 2nd place and will advance to the state competition tomorrow, March 19th.

The Blue Team (Nina Armstrong, Chloe Gorman, Dhruv Patel, Asha Ramakumar, Lily Cate Smith, Yoni Weiner, and timekeeper Sarah Mark) finished in 4th place but just missed out on the state competition. They really were *thisclose* to making it to the state competition.

The Silver Team (Charles Chen, Charlotte Dehoop, Hannah Emami, Josh Heros, Brett Meggersee, Ari Williams, and timekeeper Kavi Koshkarian) didn't make it to the championship round on Saturday but finished with a 2-2 record during the preliminary rounds. Their only losses were against other TGS teams. This is a considerable accomplishment for such a young and relatively inexperienced team.

In addition to the team results, Asha Ramakumar, Nina Armstrong, and Caitlin McCormick were also honored with All-Region recognition by the judges for their individual excellence throughout the day.

The White Team has been working very hard to hone their skills and presentation. They’ve sacrificed their Spring Break to prepare for the state tournament. I am confident they’ll be fierce competitors and represent The Gregory School well!

Congratulations to all the Mock Trial teams. I’m incredibly proud of the work you’ve done!
